Busiest around July · quietest in April — in peak season book a sunset slot 4–6 weeks ahead; off-season means soft light, thin crowds and easy availability.

Why Trocadéro is a great place to shoot

Among the areas to gaze upon the city, only a few are as alluring as Place du Trocadéro. When visiting Paris, a photo with the Eiffel Tower is a must. There are many spots from which you can take photos of the tower, with Place du Trocadéro being the most famous location. There're endless views in this large plaza, so you can take plenty of stunning photos of you with the Eiffel Tower in the background all the way from the metro station to the top of the hill. One of the best places to get a shot of you at Trocadéro is next to the fountains of Jardins du Trocadéro. This is a great spot where you can get a front-on photo of the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately, it may be tricky to get a photo of you with the entire Tower in the background in other places, so this is a great area for you to get a photo with the whole thing behind you. With the sun rising from the east, remember to face to the right, so that you can catch the sun on that gorgeous face! Another great place to get perfect shots is at the bottom of the stairs in front of Jardins du Trocadéro. It's very easy to get full-body shots with the whole tower in the same shot. Another great place is halfway up the stairs, which is perfect in case you were out too late drinking some Dom Pérignon! At almost any time of the day, this spot is less crowded, and you just have to wait patiently for getting a shot with no one walking in front of you, but it's so worth it! Also, near the Place du Trocadéro, there are many wonderful museums, including Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, which isn't as well-known as the Louvre, but it’s full of major artistic themes of the 20th and 21st century, including Fauvism, Cubism, Abstract Art, and New Realism from many of the hot new Parisian Artists. If you don't want to see the special exhibits, the regular collection is free of charge. The museum is located in the prime 8th Arrondissement right off George V. Another popular museum is Palais Galliera, The City of Paris Fashion Museum. This is a magical place with treasures like Audrey Hepburn's hat collection and pieces that belonged to Marie Antoinette. A total must-see is the Margiela exhibition too! If you're hungry near the Place du Trocadéro and want some local cuisine, inside the Shangri-La Hotel (which is super-easy to see and find), there's a Two-Michelin-starred restaurant called L'Abeille, where you can have an amazing genuine French culinary experience from the hands of Chef Christophe Moret. You can either go for a tasting menu with 9-13 courses or go straight for the most popular thing on the menu, the duck foie gras terrine with perfectly sliced mushrooms and green tea powder. From there you can splurge on dessert with the pastry chef's award-winning frosted Corsican honey "ice cream". Although this isn't the only restaurant around the Place du Trocadéro, it's one of the best!
