Why Monbijou Park is a great place to shoot

This park was once the home to the rococo Monbijou Palace. Monbijou park neighbors Museum Island, Hackeschen Market, and the Berlin Cathedral. The nine-meter wide promenade and lush green grass are open for families, couples, and individuals to enjoy their time on low set beach chairs while watching the boats pass by along the Spree. There is also a large swimming pool that was built in the 1960s where the entire family can enjoy a pleasant day in the sun. On the weekends there are fantastic dance parties in the park’s beach bar. Behind the bar is a handmade theater from wood, which makes for a great background in the daylight or evening hours. The ambiance there is extremely laid back making it an enjoyable atmosphere for both locals and tourists. Many locals who live in Mitte frequent this area for the cool air that comes up from the Spree and the aesthetic view onto the fine edge of Museum Island. You can rest under the shade of the Summer or Autumn leaves and capture the Cathedral, or the Bode Museum set behind the Spree as your background. At night the beach bar is decorated with charming lights draping overhead, illuminating the trees, the water, and the dance floor. If you’re lucky you can catch a live concert there on Monday evenings, which always makes for a romantic moment during the day’s overloaded schedule. Many people come here to enjoy an afternoon drink at the bar during their trip, but it also makes for a romantic aperitif. You can easily immerse yourself in the crowd or choose a nice and quiet spot for you, or you and your partner. There are many beautiful trees and quiet spaces around the park, where you have the opportunity to enjoy the view without participating in the crowd if you feel like enjoying the setting from a distance. The overall atmosphere of Berlin makes you feel comfortable to do and be as you feel. In the wintertime, Berlin parks take on an especially romantic feel. Throughout the park, you can find different antique sculptures, fountains, and impressive playgrounds for children. You can also rent one of the many available bikes placed all around the city and take a relaxing bike ride along the Spree and through the park. Some of the best photographs are action shots, capturing you while you and your family are engaged in a truly enjoyable activity that offers both mobility, exercise, and adventure. If there’s a dance party on for the night, which there usually are during the weekends and summer nights, it’s the perfect opportunity to dress up for the beachy theme and dance the night away.
