Why Tiergarden is a great place to shoot

Immerse yourself in Berlin’s wilderness and experience the vast nature of Tiergarten park. Tiergarten Park, which is 210 hectares, nearly 519 acres wide, reaches to the west side of Brandenburg Gate and the backside of Potsdamer Platz. Since 2001 it was sectioned off and added to the borough of Mitte and is certainly full of pleasant activities, diverse entertainment, and fulfilling adventures. This area is great for reading, jogging, cycling, having a family photo session or your portrait taken, or just simply relaxing and enjoying the shade and beautiful nature. You can pleasantly stroll down one of the many winding pebbled paths leading you to different areas of the park. Soviet War Memorial Within the park, itself are several sculptures and memorials, such as the Soviet War Memorial and the Global Stone peace project which sets different large stones for each continent of the world as a symbol of peace and unity. Many children and couples climb the rocks to enjoy the view of the park, which also makes for a playful and delightful image. Cultural House The park is also home to Haus der Kulturen der Welt, where you can encounter contemporary and experimental arts from all over the world while sipping from a glass of wine on their vibrant terrace. Café & Beer Garden You can also treat yourself and your partner to a romantic tea or coffee at the Café am Neuen See, which looks out onto one of Tiergarten’s small breezy lakes. Many enjoy the cafe’s beer garden to break the summer heat with one of Berlin’s delicious craft beers on tap or from the bottle. You can saunter through the park’s diverse trees and landscape during all hours of the day until sundown. Many tourists and locals indulge in the park’s natural environment all year around, no matter what the season may be. Berlin Zoo On the edge of the park, close to Kurfürstendamm, you can treat yourself to a tour through Berlin’s world-famous zoo, which has more species than any other zoo in the world. Your family will have the opportunity to see almost 20,000 animals, that is if you make your way all around the zoo grounds. You can have your photograph taken while feeding the goats, visiting the hippos or feeding the bonobos! Discover Tiergarten’s diverse landscape during a romantic stroll or family bike ride on the many available bikes found all around the city. If you’re feeling really adventurous and curious you may even stumble upon the many ponds, gardens and quaint benches spread throughout the park. In the wintertime, the lakes and ponds freeze up adding a touch of winter romance to your scene and experience. Victory Column And, last but certainly not least, is the Victory Column. Even though the park is impressive in size, you can’t miss the Victory Column (Siegessäule) at the center of the park. Victory Column stands within an impressive roundabout known as the Großer Stern. If you have the energy, you can climb up the winding steps to the unbelievable panoramic view just below the Victory Goddess bronze sculpture. Once you’ve reached the top you can treat yourself to the full view over Tiergarten, which is absolutely picturesque all year around.
