El Rosedal de Palermo: The Rose Garden of Palermo If you’re traveling to Buenos Aires during October, November, March or April, you just need to head over to the city’s marvelous rose garden located in Palermo. Not only is it a breath of fresh air in the City of Fury, but it is also a romantic and lovely sight to see roses in full bloom. And not only red roses, but you can also find them in other color schemes! Take a walk through the garden and discover many types of roses and take in the lovely aroma. If you’ve ever imagined yourself walking into a Monet painting, you were probably dreaming of walking into Palermo’s rose gardens. The Japanese Garden Similar to the rose garden, but entirely different at the same time. You definitely can’t miss the impressive and almost majestic “Jardin Japones” in the heart of Palermo. This scenic paradise of a park was actually built by the Japanese Embassy in 1967 upon the visit of the former heirs to the crown, Akihito and Michiko who are presently the emperor and empress of Japan. They donated the garden to the Buenos Aires City as a symbol of gratitude of the Japanese community living in Argentina. A lovely part history that reflects the other side of the world is this garden. Visit the magical tea house located here, as well as take photos of the Koi fish lagoons. A very popular take here is crossing the tiny Japanese traditional bridge while looking over the Koi swimming around and flowers in the background. Cafés along the Streets of Palermo Hollywood We can only describe this as some sort of “Parisian” vibe. You will find yourself reminiscing from movies or pictures you’ve seen of Paris before, especially in this part of the city. Discover plenty of artisan-like cafés with seating along the sidewalks. Why not let the aroma from the coffee shops lead the way into any of these lovely cafés which also offer “Panadería” or pastry shops too. Bosques de Palermo “The Forests of Palermo” Alongside Avenida Libertador, discover a beautiful avenue depicted with an orange sidewalk and catch a glimpse of the monumental like “Bosques de Palermo” amidst one of the most expensive and fancy looking skylines of the city. You can’t miss a walk here. On one side, you will be breath-taken by the architectural art and modernity of European like buildings and several flower shops stands along the way. And on the other, the greenery of the “bosque”. Truly, in every corner you look, you can find something interesting happening. With its lake, packed with tourists that go pedaling to catch views of the park’s surroundings in the water, tall trees, rose gardens and picturesque Italian style bridges that go connecting the park decorated with flowers in the summer. The Planetarium An architectural masterpiece found somewhere in the vastness of Bosques de Palermo, but you cannot miss it. It is a planetarium that was built with the purpose of teaching and creating awareness of the astronomical sciences and discoveries made by Argentinians. The planetarium hosts various shows to the general public and also students. But what’s more astounding, is the view from the outside, truly a very popular spot for shooting. During weekends, this part of the park is great for picnics and laid-back afternoons.
