Luckily, the city has exciting activities both indoors and out (though mostly outdoors, since the weather is just so pleasant).   Visiting Dallas in Spring

  While the temperatures in winter are mild, and relatively pleasant compared to other North American cities, a Dallas Spring is just about perfect. If you’re a die-hard tulips fan or just a botanical lover, you’ll be happy to know that both the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden host a spectacular tulip show as they bloom in all their glory. If you’re arranging a proposal this Spring, flowers always, always make for a romantic background to your engagement photoshoot with a Dallas photographer! If you want to spend the day by the river you have two options, kayaking the Trinity River, or riding along the riverbanks on horseback, or both? For a real adventure, you’ll have to book a day in Dallas’ Six Flags Great Adventure, just make sure there is no rain in the forecast that day, otherwise, you may get soaked on a ride that isn’t even a water ride!  Then, of course, you won't need to find an excuse to hang out outside, that excuse will find you.   Visiting Dallas in Summer

  Ready for free rooftop movie nights, waterslides, festivals and bar hopping this summer? The Granada Theater hosts free movie nights every Wednesday night, and then there is The State Fair of Texas, this is big stuff. The State Fair of Texas has endless rides, fried food stands, concerts and more. Choose from some of Dallas’ best photographers and spend your day exploring the fairgrounds, and then see if you can squeeze in a sunset photoshoot on one of Dallas’ bridges for a sunset view over the city. For some cooling down activities this summer, spend the day around White Rock Lake, rent a paddleboat, a bike, or simply go for a walk.  If you really want a taste of Dallas’ drinking scene, check out Deep Ellum and spend an evening bar-hopping from one cool bar to the next. And if Deep Ellum wasn’t enough, then test your limits in Uptown Dallas, where the nightlife is really booming. If you happen to pull an all-nighter, you’ll be happy to stumble into some of Dallas’ top-notch brunch spots to nurse your hangover. For food junkies, check out the Taste of Addison, the Taste of Irving and the Taste of Dallas food festivals. When your stomach is full, head over to the Dallas Margarita Meltdown and the Bloody Mary Festival for some real summer fun.

  Visiting Dallas in Autumn

  If you’re in Dallas during October, you’ll be happy to know you can catch The State Fair all month long. Have your personal photographer catch you with the Big Tex illuminating the background of your photo. Then, a must-see is Autumn at the Arboretum brimming with pumpkins, corn and gourds, here you can truly take in the pleasurable colors of Fall.  For more fun outdoor activities, that are unbelievably picturesque, check out The Nasher Sculpture Center and Klyde Warren Park, for food trucks, live music and more. Then spend a day in the Bishop Arts District to check out the local art scene, where you can find some of the best coffee shops, restaurants, and art, of course. If you’re traveling with your family you can head over to the Dallas Zoo where there are trick-or-treat activities and other fun activities for the whole family. Then spend the day in the Dallas Museum of Art, and an evening in Dark Hour haunted house if you can handle a night full of fear! If you’re lucky you can catch GrapeFest, but if you miss out on all the wine fun, maybe you can catch the Addison Oktoberfest, which is supposed to be the best Oktoberfest in North America, but we’ll let you decide on that one for yourself.

  Visiting Dallas in Winter

  Dallas winters can be very mild, which is why they keep their festivals going all season long. If you’re in Dallas in the first week of December, head over to the Dallas Holiday Parade, where girls dance in shorts, the balloons are some of the largest you may have ever seen, and perhaps your one and only chance to catch the local marching band. If you’re traveling with your family for the holidays, this may be the first destination to hire your family photographer from Dallas, celebrating Dallas culture to the fullest. You can also check out the Light Show in the Dallas zoo, also known as the Light Show Festival. Then you can check out the Dallas Arboretum’s Christmas exhibition. For those traveling after Christmas, you’ll be happy to know the exhibition goes on until the end of January. If you’re in Dallas in late December you may just make it to the Lights All Night Festival, which is a music festival with too many great DJs to name. If you’re absolutely craving snow, you won't find it anywhere in Dallas except maybe the Gaylord Texan Resorts, where you can go tubing down a giant ice hill.  For free festivals look up when The KwanzaaFest at the Automobile Building in Fair Park is scheduled this winter. Here you can watch singing competitions, food eating competitions and much more! Not that you’ll need to spend much time indoors, but if you feel like some great indoor shopping you can make your way over to Galleria Mall.
